Turkish Airlines Celebrates 4th Anniversary in Nepal

Turkish Airlines, the national carrier of the Republic of Turkey and the best Airline in Europe, celebrated the 4th Anniversary of its flights to Kathmandu, last month. The anniversary was marked amidst a special celebration brunch on 14th of October 2017, at Gokarna Forest Resort.

General Manager of Turkish Airlines for Nepal, Mr. Abdullah Tuncer Kececi along with other officials of Turkish Airlines, hosted numerous guests, including international dignitaries, celebrities, travel agencies, business partners and media representatives.

The airline launched its services between Istanbul and Kathmandu since the beginning of September 2013. At present, with its 289-seater Airbus A330 aircraft, the airline operates five flights a week on this sector. Currently, it is the only carrier to connect Europe with Nepal directly. Europe has been one of the leading traditional tourist generating markets for Nepal.

Established in 1933 with a fleet of five aircraft, Star Alliance member Turkish Airlines is a 4-star airline with a fleet of 332, passenger and cargo aircraft flying to 300 destinations worldwide with 251 international and 49 domestic routes.

According to the 2017 Skytrax survey, Turkish Airlines, already having a six consecutive years of “Best Airline in Europe” award between 2011-2016, is also chosen as the “Best Airline in Southern Europe” for the ninth consecutive times. Having won the “Best Economy Class Onboard Catering” award in 2010, Turkish Airlines was also awarded as the World’s “Best Business Class Onboard Catering” in 2013, 2014 and 2016, and 2017. Winning the “World’s Best Business Class Lounge” award in 2015 and 2017, the global carrier also picked up the World’s “Best Business Class Lounge Dining” award for the third consecutive years according to this year’s survey results.
