The 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) held in Kathmandu on friday elected new executive committee under the leadership of Khum Bahadur Subedi, for the term of two years.
The election held during the AGM also elected three vice presidents, one secretary, one treasurer, one joint treasurer and nine executive committee members.
Two separate panels led by Khum Bahadur Subedi and Anjan Thapa (Kumar) contested for the election. For the post of president Subedi defeated Thapa by 83 votes. Subedi secured 521 votes while Thapa got 438 votes. Nabin Trital, Cholendra Bahadur Karki and Bharat Sapkota was elected senior vice president, first vice president and second vice president respectively. Similarly, Sarita Lama was elected General Secretary while Damodar Dhaka, Ritu Gyamdan and Surya Kumar Shrestha were elected secretary, treasurer and joint treasurer respectively.
Likewise, Nima Diki Sherpa, Sonam Gyaljen Sherpa, Simbir Ghale, Kanchha Sherpa, Sanam Sherpa, Mingma Tenzing Sherpa, Ram Bahadur Gurung. Prem Bahadur Lama and Thakur Prasad Sapkota have been elected as executive members.
Outgoing President Navaraj Dahal and TAAN Pokhara President Hari Bhujel will also be in the new executive committee as ex-officio members.
