Flyyeti.com to suspend operation from mid-July
Flyyeti.com, a Nepalese budget carrier, has said that it would
suspend its operations from mid-July citing current political uncertainty and
difficult working conditions.
A press release issued by the airline says the adverse situation has impacted
on the airline's ability to renew its current aircraft leasing contract, which
are subject to government approval and expires in mid-July, 2008.
'The current uncertainty-combined with difficult operating conditions in Nepal
and a presently opaque regulatory environment-has led the management of Flyyeti.com
to decide that it is in the best interest of the company and its passengers
to temporarily suspend operation' the press release adds. It also said that
company would closely monitor the political and market conditions in the country
and was hopeful of resuming operation when those conditions stabilized.
Flyyeti.com was launched on January 20, 2008 as a joint venture between Yeti
Airlines, Nepal and Air Arabia, United Arab Emirates. The company was flying
to Abu Dhabi, Sharajahan, and Kuala Lumpur and was planning to begin flights
to New Delhi, India.
