Image Nepal — International Travel Magazine successfully participated in Thailand Travel Mart 2016 Plus (TTM+ 2016) held in Chiang Mai of Thailand from 8-10 June.
The event over 850 delegates from more than 55 countries, doing great business while networking and enjoying cultural performances and color that showcased the history and art of Lanna and ASEAN.
After having been held for 14 consecutive years in Bangkok, TTM+ moved to Chiang Mai in 2016 and was staged at the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre (CMECC).
According to the organizers, the move is a demonstration of promotion efforts of the Government of Thailand towards the north, the area that is becoming increasingly vital for tourism, also because of its strategic position as the gateway to other Asian countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam.
Representatives from Thailand’s hotel, hospitality, spa, and travel industry were joined by H.E. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Thailand’s Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), as well as senior tourism executives of Greater Mekong Sub-Region i.e. Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand.
Hundreds of stalls and booths at TTM+ 2016 promoted a wide range of services and destinations and the organizer deemed the event as a huge success.
Copies of Image Nepal were distributed free of cost to Thai tourism authorities as well as the delegates of TTM+.
Image Nepal’s officiating editor Rajiv Joshi represented the publication in the event. The publication group has been participating in leading trade fairs all over the world like WTM, ITB, FITUR, PATA events and Arabian Travel Mart, among others.
